The 10-time Grammy winner joins a cast that includes Adrien Brody as Chess Records founder Leonard Chess, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon, and Columbus Short as Little Walter. Phil Chess, the co-founder of the influential Chicago record label that was home to Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Etta James, Willie Dixon, Howling’ Wolf and many. The film stars Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon, Yasiin Bey as Chuck Berry, Columbus Short as Little Walter, Jeffrey Wright. Beyonce Knowles has signed on to appear in the ensemble film, ‘ Cadillac Records’ as blues singer, Etta James.īeyonce Knowles has signed on to play blues singer Etta James in “Cadillac Records,” a 1950s period film about the founder of Chicago’s Chess Records and his lineup of stars.
