The real genius of the watch is the bracelet. The BB58 Bronze is a boutique exclusive and you won't see as many out there, if you see one at all.kind of the same rarity with the silver as well probably. The bezel color matches really well with the rest of the watch and even when the patina sets in, the bezel still looks great with this watch. The mixed marker/number dial is a decent change from the standard markers. It is more lines than spots, like the silver I have seen. When the darkened areas start to set in, they blend with the bronze and don't stand out. I've had mine almost exactly one year now and the patina hasn't really changed since the first few months passed. Mine has dulled in its shine, but it is not picking up the coating nor turning colors. The patina is nowhere near what you see on most bronze watches. Don't get me wrong, the watch is absolutely gorgeous, but for these reasons, I passed. There isn't a bracelet option for the silver and this was another negative for me. Black spots appear in the silver finish and you can look through some old threads to see this. On the silver, when the patina starts to set in, it is a little bit spotted. (also got the GMT and Chrono.I like Tudor!!!)Īnyway, I compared the 2 as well when deciding on my bronze. I'll come from the perspective of owning: Interested to hear from owners of these watches. In tropics, I sweat a lot, would this have different effect on silver or bronze, eg, accelerates patina or cause any allergic reaction to skin? I know Tudor uses proprietary mixture of metals on both so I am hoping it would not cause any rashes. On patina - I don’t own/wear any Jewelry nor have any experience with silver or bronze. Pros: I just love the brown-bronze bezel & dial on bronze bracelet (not gold), love the 369 markers (really makes it unique to other BB), it comes with bracelet!Ĭons (or neutral?): it seems to patina faster & more pronounced than silver, I have seen different patina looks so not sure what I will be getting into and if I would like it, the cleaning looks more cumbersome than the silver, especially as you need to clean the entire bracelet. I have seen the cleaning method and looks easy enough. Neutral: Caseback display & tarnishing over time. So may need to find a suitable 3rd party bracelet. Pros: Unique brushed silver case, first light/taupe dial compared to my other black/dark dial watches.Ĭons: No bracelet!! I like the look on the leather strap but bring in tropics it is not always practical to wear leather in hot weather. However, I could only add 1 into the collection and would like to hear your opinion if you have owned and have considered any of the 2. Now with my pleasant revelation on BB58 blue, I am toying with the idea of getting the BB 58 925 or the bronze, as I find them unique and could complement my collection. As you can see the sizes of the watches above varies but they fit just right on my wrist size/shape. I can name few dive watches that I own and I find comfortable wearing them: MM300, Sinn U50, BB58 Blue, SPB143 and Pelagos 39. I love dive watches and I have small-ish wrist - 6.25” round-ish, hence it is rare that I can get a great fit and wearing comfort and experience on dive watches. I recently fell head over heels for BB 58 after getting the blue version.
